Summer Peru is a Level 2 trip for those high schoolers that have previously participated in foreign missions and have a basic knowledge of overseas travel and third world culture. This trip will meet at Hartsfield International at 2:15pm on June 13th and leave on Delta flight 335 and travel to Lima, Peru.
The mission in Lima will be to work at the local orphanage there, participate in an in-depth Bible study led by Kenny and incorporate a knowledge of the culture and an appreciation for other people and their beliefs. Ica, near the epicenter of the 2007 earthquake that killed thousands of people, will be the next stop. The students will experience exposure to a country where there is no infrastructure for disaster relief and get to help brothers and sisters in Christ who are still homeless and in great physical need.
From there, the team will attend and participate in a youth conference led by Grace missionary to Peru, Alejandro Cabrera, in Bolivia. There will be opportunities to see some amazing local sights and spend time among other believers in yet another South American country.
Return flight on Delta 274 will arrive July 2nd in Atlanta from Lima at 8:02am. Students must be met at the airport by a parent or designated chaperone.
